The Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival's mission is to showcase and nurture established and emerging creative Latine/x/a/o filmmakers; to promote and celebrate the richness and diversity of Latine/x/a/o and experiences, and to foster cross-cultural understanding and dialogue.
Festival volunteers will not only have access to festival benefits (see below) and film screenings, but have the incredible opportunity to be a part of a community dedicated to celebrating the work of Latine/x/a/o individuals around the globe. Festival Interns gain experience in the day-to-day management of an international film festival and non-profit organization.

Volunteering for the Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival is an enriching and one-of-a-kind experience. Each year, PHLAFF volunteers generously devote their time and talents to the festival to help celebrate the work of Latine/x/a/o creatives. We value the skills and interests of our volunteers. Volunteer vs. Internship – What’s the difference?
Volunteers join the team prior to the Festival and provide support before and during Festival activities, while interns join our team per semester and may acquire elective credit for their participation. Once an internship application is completed, PHLAFF will work with you to ensure you have all the requirements to qualify your experience as college credit.

Every year, PHLAFF counts on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers and interns. We seek volunteers and interns locally and nationally, who share a commitment to supporting established and emerging creative Latino and Latinx filmmakers. Volunteers and interns are vital to all of PHLAFF’s programs, including Festival workshops, lectures, screenings, Youth Salon, and other special events.
